Nasal Breathing Rehabilitation – One day Workshop – Brisbane 17 May

Join Dr Rosalba Courtney in Brisbane for her unique, comprehensive and personalised approach to nasal and upper airway rehabilitation in this one day workshop!
Nasal Breathing Rehabilitation – A Functional and Integrative Approach
Nasal breathing is the basis for correct craniofacial development and optimal airway function and provides many other health benefits.
However many individuals are unable to breathe nasally.
Structures of the upper airway that can impede airflow include the tongue, pharynx and larynx. Factors such as posture, muscle function and dysfunctional breathing can impact the function of the upper airway and contribute to sleep-disordered breathing, laryngeal breathing disorders and other issues.
The usual medical and dental solutions target pathological and structural drivers with treatment involving medication, surgery and fixed or removable dental appliances. These solutions may not resolve mouth breathing in individuals who have underlying dysfunctional breathing or who have developed sensory, motor or immune consequences of “nasal disuse” syndrome.
What you’ll get from this Workshop:
Understand key functions of the nose and the benefits of nasal breathing
Learn key anatomical, pathological and functional causes of mouth breathing
Identify the characteristics and consequences of “nasal disuse” syndrome
Identify patients with mouth breathing due to functional causes
Learn and practice IBT techniques for the upper airway
In this workshop Dr. Courtney will explain how to recognise and treat patients whose mouth breathing is linked to these issues. She will describe her Functional Nasal Breathing Rehabilitation program and share research findings showing the range of benefits from this program.
Join Dr Courtney in this comprehensive training course that will enhance your clinical skills and knowledge in breathing therapy and upper airway rehabilitation.
